about

solo termite has existed as a project in different forms for many years, always changing as my interests shifted. i never really found an identity for it and thus never really progressed or matured. it wasn't until charlie atlas asked me to be part of his "variety show" - the Kitchen Follies - that solo termite was really born. so I have him to truly thank. the first show of the current incarnation of the termite was in may 2018, so this recording is the culmination of 1 termite year.

"persona non grata" was, despite a comedy of errors and equipment failure, recorded in a series of live takes the weekend of May 25th 2019 in Brooklyn, NY. A little processing and maybe 2 overdubs and boom here it is presented as 1 long continuous piece of music. lyrics are largely improvised around set themes, although there are some very written lyrics as well. all songs solo termite.
